About

Meet Rowan Hand — Head Coach, Your GMAT Coach

My goal as a GMAT Tutor is to help students feel confident, competent, and prepared for their test experience.

Rowan Hand has worked as a GMAT Tutor and test prep advisor for students across the globe since 2005, working one-to-one in London, Paris, and Warsaw and developing an even broader reach online.

From Perth to Hong Kong to New York to London to Frankfurt to Moscow, Rowan has coached over 1000 students to make their careers at schools such as Stanford GSB, INSEAD, Oxford Saïd, Cambridge Judge, Kellogg, MIT Sloan, Columbia, Wharton, Cornell, IE, IESE, and many more.

Rowan studied at Dartmouth College, Reed College, Université Paris-IV (Sorbonne), and the London Film School. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and Philosophy and a Masters in Screenwriting.

In addition to one-to-one and group GMAT tuition, Rowan has worked as a GMAT question writer, explanation writer, and content editor for some of the biggest test prep publishers in the GMAT space. Rowan knows how GMAT questions work, and teaches students from this deep knowledge.

Additionally, Rowan’s books Last Minute GMAT Grammar, How to Beat GMAT Work and Rate Problems, and How to Beat GMAT Advanced Arithmetic have been #1 Amazon Bestsellers in both GMAT and Test Guides — Graduate and Professional. You can find newer books The GMAT Probability Guide and The GMAT Permutations and Combinations Guide here at Podia

I was never a person who was confident with math growing up, but having worked my ass off to get a Physics degree, I can tell you two things: anyone can learn math, and there’s usually a better way to do it than what they taught in school.

Outside of GMAT, Rowan writes and edits screenplays and does voiceover for scientific and technical videos. In his spare time, he is a questionable musician and fixes cars when the mood strikes.
